Welcome to the Survivor Manual!

Angela Shelton's Sword of Trauma

This site is the brainchild of author and filmmaker, Angela Shelton.  After years of traveling with her documentary, she spoke with over 30,000 survivors and met with countless non-profits, activists, advocates and partners of survivors.  She saw three main things that survivors were affected by after they experienced trauma – Mental Health Issues, Physical Pain and Financial Crisis.

She also noticed that many non profits did not work well together since most of them are competing for the same funding.  That is when Survivor Manual was born.  This site enables various healers, therapists, supporters, survivors who have moved beyond pain, and non-profits working to help survivors –  to all have a non-competitive platform.

The only rules contributors and authors abide by here are – No Debating – since everyone has a platform and there is no “one” healing technique or pathway out of pain and – No Stories – since detailed stories of abuse and violence can be triggering to some survivors.

This site is a place to find Healing Resources, Encouraging and Empowering Pathways out of pain and Healing Techniques that can help you move forward in your life.  We hope you search the site at length.  Start with the Blog Posts up top or use the Search Bar to the right or click on any of the links.  There are years worth of content.

If you or your organization would like to become a contributor to this site, please contact survivors@angelashelton.com with Survivor Manual in the subject.  Thank you!

This site is not a non-profit.  It a place to provide help to non-profits  and those working in trauma and recovery have a non-compete voice.  We have a donation link to the right for Darkness to Light since Angela’s board voted to dissolve the foundation she received as a birthday gift and and donate to D2L. The goal was to enable Angela to go back to writing movies and books where she can have an even bigger voice for the movement.

I wonder whether you have any material for the fatherless man who’s dealing with hardcore maternal rejection from very early childhood on.  I’ve never once seen this specific demographic described, defined, codified or recognized in any way in any psych material.  Two of my uncles and I are members of this group and we all suffer from the same completely debilitating self-sabotage.  It’s nothing less than life-wrecking.  Has the psychology field even discovered this group and its specific problems???
