How comfortable are you with the facts?

in Darkness to Light

This week I posted the following on my blog.  The more I speak in front of people about the issue of child sexual abuse and prevention the more I become aware of the feelings of discomfort in the room.  And it is not all coming from me!

I admit when I first started sharing my story in front of people I am pretty sure that I left my body.  It has been a long road to recovery and now I can honestly say that I am thriving and living a joyful life.  What I love to notice and guide people through is how to take responsibility for how they feel and what to do, when they hear the hard facts of child abuse and trauma.  You can’t help others if you have not helped yourself first!

Hopefully this is helpful to some of you that are out there helping others!

My most favorite feeling was watching another persons eyes light up when they realize for the first time that they are not alone and feel validated for all the things they thought.
