EMPOWERING yourself to heal after TRAUMA: join forces
Top Ten Affirmations to say to yourself
Supportive groups and supportive friends have always been the backbone of why thrivers heal faster. In fact, research has proven this to be true with the ongoing breast and cancer support groups nation wide. Telling your story, sharing your feelings *outloud* is cathartic, releases stuck energy and gives you a chance to HEAR yourself talk. It also gives others the facts behind why you are feeling that way so they can help you while you continue your journey. Point is, reach out and ask for help. Asking for help is not a victimization game, it is *essential* to your own healing. Try it! You’ll be better off.
How can I do this when I’m alone?
Using the body as your main resource for healing can and has been done. The programs that I run are all about embodied practice which means that by using your body to release trauma, you can restore your inner sense of self once again. There are exercises you can do alone, or with another. The Video piece demonstrating this will come soon. (please request)
In the meantime, here are some things you can say to yourself while you heal:
1.) No matter what, I MATTER most.
2.) I am not selfish if I concentrate my efforts on ME.
3.) Nobody will ever be better at healing myself than me.
4.) I accept help from people I love and whom I trust.
5.) I say NO to people with whom I don’t feel comfortable.
6.) I feel my skin and it feels good.
7.) I feel my body and it not only feels good but I take great care of it.
8.) I’m learning how to do better self care.
9.) Sometimes taking care of myself means that I have to say no to someone else.
10.) Above all, I’m the most important person in my world.
